Built by a Resident, For Residents

Like many family medicine residents, I found studying for the CCFP exam stressful and overwhelming. Between the 105 Priority Topics, the demands of residency, and life in general, it was hard to know what to focus on—let alone find the time and energy to do it effectively. When the exam day came, I was burned out, and despite my best efforts, I failed the SAMPs. I knew this could happen to anyone, but that didn't make it any easier.

Determined to pass on my second attempt, I searched everywhere for quality practice resources. What I found was disappointing: no timed exams that replicated real conditions, manual marking that turned a 4-hour study session into an all-day ordeal, and unreliable answer keys that required hours of verification. So I built what I wished existed—a platform with realistic, timed practice exams and instant AI-powered feedback. That became SAMP Champ. Around the same time, I started experimenting with voice AI to create realistic patient simulations for SOO practice, and SOOPER was born.

Building things has always been part of who I am. As a teenager, I taught myself graphic design and spent hours crafting websites for local businesses—obsessing over every detail until they felt just right. When medicine called, I set that passion aside to focus on training. But in my final year of residency, I rediscovered it. Creating SAMP Champ and SOOPER has been a gift—a chance to merge my love of building thoughtful, well-crafted tools with my understanding of what residents actually need. Both medicine and design share the same curiosity: how to design supportive and empowering solutions that help people achieve meaningful results.
